Suchitra Vijayan - Incite at Columbia University

Suchitra Vijayan is an author, photographer, curator, and barrister. She is the author of the critically acclaimed Midnight’s Borders: A People’s History of Modern India and How Long Can the Moon Be Caged? Voices of India’s Political Prisoners. A 2023 New York Foundation for the Arts Nonfiction Fellow, she is the founder and executive director of The Polis Project, a New York-based global magazine of dissent. She previously worked with the UN War Crimes Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda, co-founded the Settlement Legal Aid Project for Iraqi refugees in Cairo, and teaches at New York University and Columbia University.
