Marlon Kegel - Incite at Columbia University

Marlon Kegel joined Incite as a Research Associate in 2025.

He is passionate about understanding the exercise of power and the use of violence in the reproduction of inequalities, both locally and globally. Retaining a keen appreciation for research that integrates a variety of data types, he has taken a particular interest in methods of causal inference.

In the past, Marlon has worked on projects tracing the militarization of police around the world. His own research has focused on how people in state or private security jobs make sense of the inequalities they experience and uphold through their work.

Marlon graduated from the dual BA program between Sciences Po and Columbia University in 2024. In addition to sociology, he studied economics at Sciences Po and statistics at Columbia.
