Tess McClure is a journalist and editor from New Zealand, and is working as editorial and research associate on the Obama Presidency Oral History. She was previously deputy editor of VICE NZ, and is a Master of Arts graduate of Columbia Journalism School. She has reported from Madagascar, Cambodia and the Philippines, and her previous work includes coverage of the lives of sex workers, the experience of mental health consumers, indigenous affairs in Aotearoa, and investigations into labour rights violations and assassinations of workers on banana plantations and Thai fishing fleets.
