Seungwon Lee is a PhD student in the department of sociology at Columbia University.
He is broadly interested in theorizing the micro-to-macro link using social network approaches and computational methods. His current research project is to understand the dynamics of scientific progress, focusing on 'commentary and debates' in academic journals that criticize errors in the previously published paper.
Using computational methods and social network analysis, he is trying to figure out the process by which accepted knowledge is challenged and rejected in the scientific field. His prior research was about the relationship between social networks and health, especially among the elderly population.
