How are communities in New York City documenting the impacts of extreme heat and climate change—and how do these stories shape collective memory?
Join Queens Memory and partners from the Melting Metropolis project for a public, site-specific event exploring urban heat through storytelling, oral history, archives, and creative practice on Thursday, February 26th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Queens Landing Boathouse and Environmental Center.
Participants will hear stories from across the boroughs about how neighborhoods are adapting to longer and hotter summers, share their own experiences, and reflect on how local climate impacts are recorded and remembered.
