"Dispatches from the Field" publishes ethnographic documents and critical reflections by master's students in sociology at Columbia University. Organized around the theme of the American Dream, the first edition includes the voices of immigrant street vendors, millennial student-workers, retired laborers from a textile mill company town, and a young man grappling with surveillance, racism, and the criminal justice system. This first issue is written and edited collaboratively by student and alumni ethnographers. The event will include a panel discussion with editors and contributors.
This release is the first published under INCITE’s recently-launched INCITE Press imprint. It is now available for purchase.
