The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation
New York, New York
The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation funds two projects at INCITE. The Mellon Foundation is the core sponsor of INCITE's Mellon Interdisciplinary Graduate Fellows Program, which brings together advanced, talented graduate students from the humanities and social sciences at Columbia University to foster their ability to incorporate the methods, approaches and knowledge of the humanities and social sciences into their research and to provide an intellectual and material environment for completing high-quality dissertations.
It also funds our research project on subscribers to the New York Philharmonic from 1870 to the present. This is a joint project between Columbia University and the New York Philharmonic involving the transcription and digitization of over 140 years of data.
